The Central New York Forward project will address existing and future transportation needs for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users, within the project limits. The future needs consider the traffic growth that is expected to occur from new developments in the area, including the Micron campus, Lakeshore Village, and the Great Northern Mall redevelopment. The project limits include sections of NYS Route 31, U.S. Route 11, Interstate 81, and NYS Route 481. These limits were chosen based on where traffic changes are most likely to occur and the identified transportation needs for the project.
